The rumors were true. Gyllene Tider has reunited to make the Swedish anthem together with Linnea Henriksson for this summer’s soccer adventures in Russia. Together with Linnea they perform “Bäst när det gäller” which is released in conjunction with the press conference where the Swedish team will be presented today, May 15.
– Writing the official song is of course an enormous challenge which you can’t turn down. All of Sweden, yes all of the world is deeply engaged in the world soccer championships so we were enormously proud to be asked, says Per Gessle on the Swedish Soccer Federation’s website.
Gyllene Tider hasn’t performed together since the 2013 tour, a tour where Linnea Henriksson also participated as the Support Act. Now both of Halmstad’s Pop Pride and Joy reunite together with Swedish manager Janne Andersson – who’s also from Halmstad – in order to help the team reach huge success.
Tomorrow morning at 09:40 on Swedish TV4 “Bäst när det gäller” will premiere!
You bet, Gyllene Tider is behind the Swedish anthem for the world soccer championship! The song is called Bäst när det gäller and includes Linnea Henriksson on vocals. Per says the song is about a couple who takes it up a notch when things get hot, but it’s also filled with soccer references most will recognize.
