Release info

“Tylö sun” is a Swedish version of The Rivieras’ hit “California Sun” and it was first recorded by Gyllene Tider under the name Halmstads Pärlor for the compilation cassette “Radio Parlophone.”

This version of the song is totally different compared to the version that later on was featured on the single “Sommartider.” It’s actually Micke Syd Andersson on lead vocals and the main thought was that he would do a “Ringo Starr” (drummer of The Beatles) and release a solo single with “Tylö sun” and “Min tjej och jag.” The idea was later scratched and Micke was banned from singing for 20 years or so.

Only 300 copies of this white label one-sided promotion single were made and it was sent out in a plain white paper sleeve. It was re-released in 2019 on Tidiga Tider.
